Wike Says Tinubu’s Work Has Crushed Coalition Plans for 2027

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that efforts to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election have collapsed due to the president’s performance in office.

Wike made this known on Wednesday during the official opening of major road projects in the Federal Capital Territory.

He spoke while commissioning the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and the link roads connecting Katampe, Jahi, and Mabushi in Abuja.

Opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, have been trying to unite through a coalition that could stand against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next presidential race.

However, the internal leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was Atiku’s platform in 2023, has made it difficult for the group to present a united front.

Wike said the plan to remove Tinubu had already failed because the president’s work is speaking for him.

According to him, the trust that contractors now have in the current administration is a strong sign that the government is working.

He added that he would keep standing with Tinubu regardless of how others feel about it.
