The Nigerian Army on Tuesday said its troops have intensified counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations across the country, neutralising several terrorists, arresting 20 suspects, and rescuing kidnap victims within the last 24 hours.
A statement by the Army’s Directorate of Public Relations disclosed that the operations were carried out simultaneously across various theatres, targeting terrorist hideouts, bandit enclaves, and criminal hideouts.
According to the statement, troops in the North-East conducted clearance missions in parts of Borno and Yobe States, killing insurgents and recovering arms and ammunition.
Similar operations in the North-West and North-Central reportedly dismantled bandit camps, rescued kidnapped victims, and apprehended suspects linked to violent crimes and logistics support networks.
In the South-South and South-East, the Army said its troops intensified anti-oil theft operations and clampdowns on separatist elements, seizing weapons and illegal equipment used for economic sabotage.
The Army assured Nigerians of its continued commitment to restoring peace and security nationwide, urging the public to provide credible information to security agencies to aid ongoing operations.
