Tragedy as Ondo Landlord’s Son Allegedly Murders 22-Year-Old Tenant

A 22-year-old woman, Joy Tale, was reportedly killed following a violent altercation with her landlord’s son, identified as 41-year-old Odunayo Olomolatan, in Ode-Irele, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, is said to have stemmed from a dispute between the two individuals that escalated fatally.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the suspect is now in custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ode-Irele.

“The deceased was allegedly attacked during a disagreement with her landlord’s son. The suspect has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances,” Ayanlade stated.

In reaction to the incident, Irele Local Government Chairman, Olajide Akinfe, called for calm among residents, assuring that the authorities are taking appropriate steps to ensure justice.

He noted that he had visited the police station and emphasized that the matter would be handled in accordance with the law.

Police have pledged a comprehensive probe to uncover all facts surrounding the tragic death.
