Tinubu Welcomes Defections From Opposition Parties

President Bola Tinubu has shared his thoughts on the growing number of politicians leaving opposition parties to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This happened on Thursday during the APC National Summit in Abuja, where party leaders gathered to discuss the future of the ruling party.

Tinubu said he is pleased with the wave of defections and encouraged the APC to continue accepting more members from other parties.

He said the movement is a normal part of the country’s political process and said people have the right to choose where they belong.

He dismissed claims that the APC is trying to push Nigeria into a one-party system, saying that those who are switching sides are simply making decisions in their own interest.

According to him, many are leaving parties they believe are no longer working and are choosing the APC as a better option.

The president said he expects even more defections in the future and called it part of the political game.

He reminded everyone that Nigeria’s democracy gives citizens the freedom to move and associate with any political group.

He welcomed the new members, referring to them as people choosing progress.
