Appeal Court sacks Sina Akinwunmi, Ondo lawmaker

According to a report by the Punch Newspaper, the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Friday upheld the judgement of the Ondo State High Court which sacked a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Sina Akinwunmi representing Okitipupa constituency 2 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. INEC Withdraws Certificate of Return from Sina Akinwunmi, Ondo Lawmaker, Gives To Gbegudu

According to the Politico, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn the certificate of return of a new lawmaker representing Okitipupa Constituency-2 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Sina Akinwunmi. Court sacks, Sina Akinwumi, APC lawmaker-elect from Okitipupa In Ondo

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure, the state capital, has sacked a lawmaker-elect, Mr Sina Akinwumi, of the All Progressives Congress. The court said Akinwunmi was not eligible to contest the House of Assembly election for Okitipupa Constituency 2 as the candidate of the APC because  he did not win the primary election conducted by the party. It declared Mr James Ololade-Gbegudu as the winner of the primary election. Olalade-Gbegudu had filed a suit challenging Akinwunmi’s candidacy.
