The Police Service Commission, on Thursday, announced the promotion of nine Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and nine Deputy Commissioners of Police to Commissioners of Police while also promoting over 20,356 senior police officers. This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the spokesperson of the commission, Mr Ikechukwu Ani. According to the statement, the exercise was one of the decisions of the 11th plenary meeting of the commission held in Abuja on Wednesday, January 25th, presided over by its Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General
