PDP factional group elects Ajijola as consensus governorship aspirant ahead of primaries in Ekiti

  A factional group, Repositioning Movement, in the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti, has elected Mr Lateef Ajijola as its consensus candidate for the party’s primaries ahead of the 2022 governorship election. Ajijola, an Architect, emerged as the group’s consensus candidate at a shadow election organised for three aspirants. Mr Aderogba Agbaje, Chairman of the Repositioning Movement Electoral Committee, announced the outcome of the shadow election in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday. Agbaje said that Ajijola scored 50 votes to defeat two others, Mr Yinka Akerele and a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Dr Sikiru Tae-Lawal, who scored 26 and four votes
