The Lagos State Government has vowed to go after illegal buildings and their owners in 2024, saying it will no longer condone impunity regarding erection of edifices in the state. This is part of the State government comprehensive effort to tackle violations of regulations on buildings. How Finance Ministry Got $5.6m W’Bank Loan For Stationery, Others
The Home Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning has received the sum of $5.6m from the World Bank to procure 21 items, which included office stationeries, furniture, solar inverter, office equipment, and vehicles. The approvals were made under the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability project, which was initiated in 2018. CBN Orders Financial Institutions To Display Business Names Online, Others
The Central Bank of Nigeria has issued a directive to all licensed financial institutions to display their corporate names conspicuously on all their websites, portals, and online applications. This directive was made public on the apex bank’s website on December 7 2023. The CBN’s directive is aimed at engendering trust and confidence in the use of such products and services. DSS Unveils Plans To Produce, Sell Drones, AK-47, Others
The Department of State Services (DSS) says there are plans underway to commence the production of its own Unmanned Ariel Vehicles (UAVs) also known as drones, AK-47s, and other weapons that would be used by the service, and possibly sell it to other agencies. The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition has ordered the arrest of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso; Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein; and 17 others, over failure to appear before it for questioning on their functions.
