We spent N45m to train teachers, Nasarawa tells SERAP
The Nasarawa State Government has said it spent N45m in one week in 2015 to train 1,000 primary schoolteachers in the state. It said the N45m was part of the Universal Basic Education Commission funds it received between 2015 and 2019. The state said this in response to a Freedom of Information request sent to it by anti-corruption group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project. Death Toll Rises To 17 In Nasarawa Village Attack
Death toll has risen to 17 in the attack on Numa Kochu village in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The Chief Medical Superintendent of the General Hospital in Akwanga, Dr Gwanje Thomas, confirmed this to reporters on Tuesday. Some gunmen had invaded the community on Sunday night, killing a pregnant woman and 14 others while 11 others were injured in the process.
