NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank (NIRSAL MfB) has disbursed loans valued at over N503.3 billion to over 881,000 Nigerians and businesses. Data from the institution indicated that most of the facilities were granted under the COVID-19 Intervention Fund released by the federal government to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on households and small businesses. Some of the beneficiaries included individuals and families whose bread winners lost their jobs in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
