Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has appointed his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan as commissioner of the newly created Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs. Aruwan’s name is among the first batch of 11 Commissioner nominees that were sent to the State House of Assembly for confirmation. You have no right to license preachers, court tells Kaduna govt

A Kaduna State High Court on Wednesday ruled  that the state had no right  to screen and issue licences to preachers in the state. But Justice Hajaratu Gwadah  ruled  that the state government had the right to regulate religious activities in the state. The judgement was  delivered in suit filed by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, challenging the constitutionality of a  bill by the Kaduna State Government seeking  the regulation of religious activities  in the state. Pastors, Imams To Get Approval Before Preaching In Kaduna

The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Friday passed the Religious Preaching Regulation bill into law. The new Religious Preaching Regulation law substitutes similar law of 1984 in the state. Kaduna: PDP Floors Elrufai In Reschedule LG Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate, Mr. Philip Gwada, has been declared winner of the rescheduled chairmanship election in Jaba Local Government area of Kaduna State by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission. The Returning Officer, Grace Doyaro, who announced the result in Kwoi on Thursday said Gwada secured 17,967 votes to defeat the APC candidate Mr Benjamin Jok who scored 7,401 votes.
