Why explosion rocks Akure – Ondo Police Command gives reasons
The explosion that occurred along Akure-Owo expressway, a few kilometres from the Akure metropolis was caused by a truck legally conveying a consignment of explosive materials to a quarry company in Edo State, Starnews NG has gathered. Addressing newsmen on Saturday, the Ondo State Police command, through the commissioner of Police, said the explosives were duly escorted by Men of the Police Ordinance department but that unfortunately, the vehicle conveying the explosives developed a fault and they tried to move away from residential areas to address the fault.
