Six hospitalized following shooting at Florida University

A shooting at the student union on the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee on Thursday left at least six individuals injured and hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries.

The incident, which reportedly took place around noon, triggered an emergency alert from the university, urging students to stay indoors and steer clear of the affected area.

All six victims were transported to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. According to hospital officials, one of the injured is in critical condition, while the remaining five are being treated for serious injuries.

Authorities are still piecing together the details surrounding the incident. As of the time of reporting, the scene remained under active investigation, with law enforcement evacuating nearby academic buildings and ensuring student safety.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Jacksonville office confirmed its presence at the scene, working in coordination with local authorities to support the investigation.

In response to the incident, Florida State University has suspended all academic, business, athletic, and extracurricular activities for the remainder of the week.
