Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s passport was reportedly seized by security officials at a Nigerian airport earlier today as she attempted to travel out of the country.
According to sources, the Kogi Central lawmaker was stopped during a routine clearance check and informed that an order had been issued to confiscate her travel documents pending “further clarification.” The specific reason for the directive remains unclear at press time.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described the action as “politically motivated harassment,” suggesting that the move may be linked to her outspoken political stance and recent advocacy efforts.
Attempts to obtain a response from her media team were unsuccessful, while airport authorities and relevant security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
The development has sparked outrage among her supporters, who have taken to social media to condemn the incident. Many accuse the authorities of attempting to intimidate a vocal political figure from Kogi State and are demanding transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding the passport seizure.
