A private jet operated by Flybird Airlines crash-landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on Sunday morning, sparking panic among passengers and airport users.
The aircraft, which departed Abuja for Kano, encountered technical difficulties before making an emergency landing at about 9:30 a.m., according to aviation sources. The jet was carrying 11 people, including three crew members.
Passengers were said to have endured tense moments during the incident before emergency responders swiftly evacuated them from the aircraft. No injuries or fatalities were recorded.
Airport authorities immediately secured the scene as emergency and safety teams were deployed to prevent further risks and ensure the safety of airport personnel and travelers.
Operations at the airport were briefly disrupted while preliminary investigations into the cause of the crash-landing commenced. Aviation officials have assured the public that a full inquiry will be conducted to determine what led to the incident.
