I rejoice with and congratulate my dear sister, Princess Oladunni Odu on her appointment as the first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Ondo State. Yours is a well-deserved appointment and a victory for the womenfolk.

You earned my respect through your antecedents and our various encounters of the past. Fate has prepared you for this new assignment and I am convinced that you will continue to work for the development and unity of our dear people. I have no doubt in your ability to justify the confidence reposed in you by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN who deemed it fit to give you this worthy appointment.

I equally congratulate our First Lady, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and the jinx breaking Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN for this bold step. This is a positive signal for our women in politics. The era of women being useful only during electioneering processes is gone. Loyalty, commitment, dedication and perseverance do pay; not only for men but also for women in politics.

Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN has always demonstrated unflinching support for women in politics. This is the climax of his love and appreciation for the womenfolk, and it is commendable. I enjoin our women to renew their support for the Akeredolu-led administration and ensure its success in its quest to move our dear State forward. With unity of purpose and continued support for the Governor, the Ondo State of our dreams is possible.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate our new SSG and pray God to grant you the wisdom to excel as you discharge your duties for the progress of our State.

Signed,

Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan
