President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new management team for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Nigeria’s foremost broadcast network.
In a statement posted on the Presidency’s official X handle on Wednesday, the President named Rotimi Richard Pedro from Lagos State (South-West) as the new Director-General of the NTA. Pedro, a seasoned media practitioner, will now lead the nation’s largest television network.
Other appointments include Karimah Bello from Katsina State (North-West) as Executive Director, Marketing; Stella Din from Plateau State (North-Central) as Executive Director, News; and Sophia Issa Mohammed from Adamawa State (North-East) as Managing Director, NTA Enterprises Limited.
The Presidency disclosed that their appointments take immediate effect.
With the new leadership, the Federal Government is expected to reposition the NTA to meet global broadcasting standards, strengthen its operations, and improve service delivery to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
The Nigerian Television Authority, established in 1977, operates the largest television network in Africa and has remained a key platform for news, information, and cultural programming across the country.
