Panic in Ore as Gunmen Kill Popular Businessman

Residents of Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area, Ondo State, were left in shock following the assassination of a well-known building materials dealer, Ismaila Awoyinka, by unidentified gunmen.

According to The Hope, the tragic incident occurred on Saturday night near his residence, located opposite Caring Heart Mega School in the Idi Mango area.

According to an eyewitness, the businessman had just finished observing the Taraweeh prayer, a voluntary prayer during Ramadan, when he was attacked.

“He left the mosque around 8:35 p.m., unaware that some individuals dressed in white had been waiting nearby. As he approached his house, they suddenly emerged from hiding, ambushed him, and shot him at close range. He died on the spot,” the source recounted.

News of his death quickly spread, drawing a crowd of sympathizers to his home, all deeply shaken by the gruesome act.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Adegoroye, expressed shock and sadness over the killing, describing it as a great loss to the community.

Community leaders also condemned the attack, urging residents to remain vigilant, especially at night. Security agencies are yet to make any arrests, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.
