Mr Olugbenga Bankole, the newly elected President, Old Students Association of Oronna High School, Ilaro, Ogun, on Saturday tasked colleagues to strive in giving back to the society, especially the school.

Bankole urged old students who graduated from various schools to endeavour in their individual or group capacity, to contribute their own quota to develop the schools and support development programmes in the educational system.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 1992 set of the school reunited after 29 years in Ilaro, to vote for new officials and deliberate on the way forward to give back to their alma mater.

He emphasised the importance of old students giving back to their Alma-mata, as this would go a long way in complementing government efforts on providing education through good schools.

“Oronna High school is the reason why we all gathered here today. We left the school 29 years ago and things are not the same as it used to be with the school.

“We need to strife in giving back to the school that have made us, what we are today and our efforts will go a long way in assisting and supporting the government to ease their burden on schools and education,” he said.

NAN reports that other newly elected executives are Morufat Balogun as Vice President; Lanre Olakanmi as Secretary; Roqeebat Are as Financial Secretary, and Adetokunbo Akinlaso as PRO.

Others are Benjamin Isah as Treasurer; Adijat Adekoya as Welfare Officer; while Muyideen Olabimtan and Modinat Olaribigbe emerged as Advisers. (NAN) (www.nanews.ng)
