Move to EPL now or regret it, Oliseh warns Osimhen

Former Super Eagles captain and ex-coach, Sunday Oliseh, has advised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to make a move to the English Premier League (EPL) this summer or risk regretting it later in his career.

Oliseh, who spoke during a recent interview with journalists, stated that the time is ripe for Osimhen to test himself in the most competitive league in the world, adding that staying longer in Italy could limit his growth and global recognition.

The Napoli forward, who has been linked with top EPL clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal, has remained tight-lipped about his future despite speculations surrounding a possible exit from the Serie A side.

“Osimhen is one of the most lethal strikers in the world right now, and I believe he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League. But time waits for no one. If he doesn’t take that leap now, he might look back in a few years and regret not testing himself at the highest level,” Oliseh said.

He also noted that while Osimhen has achieved remarkable feats in Italy, including helping Napoli to a historic Scudetto win, the EPL offers a bigger global stage and more challenging environment for elite footballers.

The 25-year-old Nigerian forward has reportedly attracted interest across Europe, but his high release clause remains a major hurdle for potential suitors. Nonetheless, Oliseh urged the striker to consider long-term career growth and legacy over immediate financial gains.

“If he wants to become a global icon and be truly tested among the best of the best, the EPL is the place. Now is the moment,” Oliseh concluded.

As the transfer window heats up, all eyes remain on Osimhen to see if he will heed the advice of one of Nigeria’s most respected football figures.
