The Federal High Court has announced that it will begin its annual vacation for 2025 on July 28, with court activities set to resume on September 17.
This was made known through a statement issued in Abuja by the court’s Director of Information, Catherine Oby Christopher.
She stated that while the court will be on break during this period, urgent cases will still be attended to in the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt divisions.
People who need to file or respond to emergency matters during the vacation can visit any of these three court branches, depending on which one is closest to them.
The judges assigned to handle urgent matters during the break include Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman in Abuja; Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki in Lagos; and Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed in Port Harcourt.
The vacation is in line with the court’s civil procedure rules, specifically Order 46, Rule 4 (d), as provided for in the 2019 regulations.
Chief Judge John Tsoho, according to the announcement, has extended warm wishes to all judges of the court ahead of the vacation.
