Don’t waste your money, you will come a distant third – PDP Southwest leader to Jegede
September 30, 2020
The immediate past Southwest Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rev Bunmi Jenyo has allegedly advised the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede not to waste his money on the forthcoming governorship election in the state because according to him he will not win.”
The PDP leader allegedly said this during his visit to Osun PDP Central Senatorial District in Osogbo at the PDP State Secretariat, at Biket Area, on Tuesday during the continuation of his re-election campaign.
He was said to have dropped the bombshell to the chagrin of party leaders and members in attendance.
Addressing his hosts, Revd. Jenyo reportedly said, “based on the fact and political situation in Ondo State, PDP candidate will come a distant third after Agboola of Zenith Labour Party.”
Revd. Jenyo did not explain further what he meant by the “fact and political situation in Ondo State” that will make it difficult for his party to become successful despite all efforts being geared towards a successful outing for the party by its leaders across the length and breadth of the country.
Recall that Starnews Nigeria had reported how a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state, Hon Banji Okunomo, who had since defected to the Zenith Labour Party ZLP, and the Minister of State for Niger/Delta Affairs, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, Jegede’s kinsman from Akure North Local Government, had echoed the same thing in separate media reports that Jegede is wasting his time contesting the forthcoming election because according to them, it is not yet the turn of Ondo Central to produce the governor in Ondo State.
The latest statement by Rev Jenyo is a confirmation that all is not well with the opposition PDP in Ondo State, Starnews Nigeria can report
