In Luke 23: 34, Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Many will wonder on that faithful day why Jesus gave that statement of prayer. The answer is simple. It was because the glory of the Cross was hidden to those who were hell bent to kill Him.
