Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 election, has reacted to claims by President Muhammadu Buhari that his academic certificates are with the Nigerian Army at the Election Petition Tribunal.

Atiku stated in one of his responses at the tribunal that the President should order the army to produce his academic certificates as commander-in-chief of armed forces if those certificates truly exist.

Starnews reports that Atiku gave this response to counter the reply of President Buhari where he averred that some “training and courses” he did when he enrolled to the Nigerian army placed him “head and shoulders above Atiku in educational qualifications.

The PDP Presidential candidate who said he attached his academic certificates to the Form CF001  he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, urged the tribunal to declare him the authentic winner of the February 23 presidential  election, insisting that president Buhari did not possess the educational qualifications he claimed to have possessed in his INEC Form CF001.

Starnews gathered that the petitioner also stated that “the purported training and courses”, which Buhari claimed placed him “head and shoulders above” Atiku in educational qualifications “did not culminate in the issuance of any certificates he claimed in his  INEC Form CF001”.

Atiku described Buhari’s claim of being head and shoulders above him as “erroneous”.
