Member of the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja from Okitipupa/Irele Federal constituency of Ondo State, Hon. Mike Omogbehin, has tackled president Muhammadu Buhari for accusing the National Assembly of sabotage over the 2018 appropriation bills recently signed into law by the President.

Recall that President Buhari said yesterday that he grudgingly signed the appropriation bill into law while he accused the National Assembly of sabotaging the executive by cutting the budget but said that the lawmakers increased the National Assembly budget which is mainly on recurrent expenditure according to the president.

While reacting to president Buhari’s accusation, Omogbehin said Nigerians should disregard the President comment but should instead ask pertinent questions about the N2.1 trillions  Buhari’s administration provided for debt servicing.

Omogbehin accused the executives under Buhari of allocating bogus amount of money that will go directly into their pockets for projects in the cities.

In a reactive comments he sent to our correspondent on whatsapp, Omogbehin said:

“My brother, disregard Buhari. Why did he sign it? Are the cities and major towns the only place Nigerians resides? Nigerian should not allow the executive to distract them from monitoring the performance of the budget. Nigerian should ask questions about #2.1 trillions provided for debt servicing. Who, when, where and how would these money for debt servicing disbursed? How well and quickly would the capital budget be implemented? This should be the critical issues for discussion now and not this trivialities. Can the legislators pull the funds from MDAs? This people were just allocating bogus sums to projects in cities to line their pockets. Call them for a defence, they will disappear giving one reasons and another. Abegi, make I hear word jor!”
