A group under the auspices of Ikale Liberation Vanguard (ILV), on Saturday, asked governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to name his achievements in any community of Ikale speaking nation ahead of Ondo State governorship election on October 10, 2020.

The group in a statement by Comrade Omopariola Dare, President, and Comrade Williams Akinyele Wilkay, Secretary, said Akeredolu alleged brave action to insult Obas was his only achievement in Ikale land.

The full statement reads:

”The diversity and strength of Ikale nation lie at the traditional institution level. From time immemorial, the kabiesis are known as small gods. Nobody insults the Obas and goes scot-free. Your Excellency Arakunrin Akeredolu Oluwarotimi, we are putting this to you that the insult you hurled at our Obas was an arbitrary use of executive power.”

”Candidly, your brave action which culminated in insulting our Obas has been your only achievement in Ikale land. Since you have no regards for the paramount rulers, how will you care about the commoners? You have obviously written it on the wall that you hate Ikale people generally. Then, how do you expect the people you hate with the passion to vote for you?”

”Your Excellency, we are of course aware of your crocodile apologies to the Obas but we the Ikale youths are telling you that your apologies remain unacceptable. Your Excellency, you have failed us and have also pushed us to the wall. Even if your sins are forgiven, the consequences of your sins will not be sent to oblivion. You have disrespected our fathers and we will never give you our votes. Our votes are our legitimate weapon to fight you. We know you are the Alfa and Omega of the state but behold our votes are mightier than a two-edged sword.”

”Your Excellency, our meticulous study has revealed to us that you have no single achievements on Ikale nation other than the gigantic insults you hurled at our Obas.”
