The Ekiti State chapter of the Obasanjo’s beloved party, the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), made history yesterday, as its party congress in the state produced a 50-man state executive members to pilot the affairs of the party.
In the non election congress which held at the West gate Hotel, Ado-Ekiti, Hon Afolayan Akutupu became the state chairman, High Chief Diran Asiko Omotosho emerged as the secretary, Chief Eniola Osuntokun (Mrs) was made the state woman leader and Mrs Toyin Olanrewaju was returned as the deputy woman leader.
This was contained in a statement made available to the press by the deputy Publicity Secretary of the party in Ekiti State, Mr Gbenga Ogedengbe.
According to Ogedengbe, the new chairman in his acceptance speech, expressed confidence in the new ADC team in Ekiti State.
Akutupu urged the ADC executive members to see their positions as a serious business responsibilities and not as mere political job placements.
The new state chairman pleaded with the ADC 50-man executives to emulate the determination of the internationally recognized front line elder statesman, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to rescue Nigeria from the current APC federal government abysmal leadership failure by disengaging President Buhari and his APC cronies from all levels of the country’s leadership, come 2019.
“I urged party officers in Ekiti State and as concerned citizens of Federal Republic of Nigeria, to chase Buhari and APC out of power and give good governance to Nigerians from 2019 henceforth. The huge number of the executives are first of its kind in the history of politics in Ekiti state,”Akutupu said
