Ahmed Musa Back in Training Ahead of Pillars, Rangers Clash

Kano Pillars captain, Ahmed Musa, has returned to full training after shaking off a minor injury, handing the club a timely boost ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) showdown with Rangers International.

Musa picked up the knock on matchday two during Pillars’ clash with Wikki Tourists, which forced him to miss last weekend’s North-West derby, where the Sai Masu Gida fell 1-0 to arch-rivals Katsina United.

His comeback is a welcome development for the four-time NPFL champions, who are still chasing their first win of the new season after managing just a single point from three matches.

Head coach Evans Ogenyi will now look to the former Super Eagles skipper for leadership and inspiration when Pillars host an in-form Rangers side at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Musa, who rejoined Pillars in 2021 for a second stint after an illustrious European and international career, is expected to play a key role in boosting the team’s morale as they aim to kick-start their campaign.
