ADC Website Crashes as Nigerians Rush to Join New Opposition Coalition

The official website of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stopped working on Friday, July 5, 2025, after many Nigerians rushed to register as members of the newly introduced opposition coalition.

The surge in online activity came shortly after the ADC was unveiled as the major platform for a new alliance aiming to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The crash happened because the website could not handle the large number of visitors.

Many users who tried to sign up received error messages, while some took to social media to complain that the site was no longer accessible.

The technical breakdown is believed to be linked to the server’s inability to handle the pressure from the growing number of interested Nigerians.

By the time this report was written, the party had not issued any official response to the incident.

The coalition was launched on Wednesday in Abuja and attracted several top politicians from different parties.

Among those present were former Senate President David Mark, ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi. Others included former APC Chairman John Oyegun, former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, ex-Attorney General Abubakar Malami, former minister Solomon Dalung, Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Labour Party’s Senator Ireti Kingibe, Emeka Ihedioha, and retired Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

The African Democratic Congress, originally known as the Alliance for Democratic Change, was created in 2005 and later rebranded after it was officially registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

I don’t believe in rebranding names for political parties. The quality of people matters. Why’s it impossible to remove corruption from Nigeria like Burkina faso. Are they special humans different from Nigeria, the giant of corruption? Even truth is hated. Read Isaiah 5:20-23.
