2027: APC Youths Disown Kinsman Odimayo, Declare Support for Obayangban, Aiyedatiwa’s Aide

Irele, Ondo State – In a surprising turn of events, a group of youths from Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area, has publicly disowned their kinsman, Prince Jimi Odimayo, who is currently serving as the Member of the House of Representatives for the Okitipupa-Irele Federal Constituency.

As Odimayo campaigns for reelection, Starnews NG reports that the youths have thrown their support behind Hon. Bidemi Obayangban, a special assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on forestry.

Leading the charge is Hon. Adewale Adefua (LALIGA), the representative of Irele under the Ondo State Youth Parliament, who declared, “We have seen the positive impact Hon. Obayangban has made in our community. It is time for a change, and we believe he is the right person to represent us.”

The youths believe that Obayangban’s initiatives have significantly contributed to the local community, aligning with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s “Our Ease” agenda. They described him as “Mr. Talk and Do,” emphasising his commitment to delivering on promises.

Highlighting the importance of traditional power-sharing agreements, Adefua stated, “It is our long-standing tradition that Okitipupa Local Government is entitled to two terms, while Irele has one. We must respect this unwritten agreement for the good of our constituency.”

Hon. Ajibade Omogunoye, the Ward 4 APC Youth leader, also voiced his support, saying, “We are backing Hon. Obayangban because of his humility and passion for our people. We believe he can bring about the change we need, despite our kinsman, Odimayo, seeking reelection.”

Sunday Omojunwa, the Honourable Councillor and leader of the Irele Legislative Council, assured constituents, “Hon. Obayangban is dedicated to making a positive difference in our lives. If given the opportunity, he will represent us well.”

Hon. Gbologe Alex, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement, expressed confidence in Obayangban’s potential, urging youths throughout the senatorial district to promote peace and unity as the elections approach.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the backing of the Irele youths for Obayangban marks a significant shift in local support dynamics, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle in the upcoming elections.
