The President of the African Development Bank and former minister of Agriculture, Dr Akiwumi Adesina, on Saturday, obtained copies of his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to vie for the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket. This is as a coalition of 28 groups consisting of Youth Arise Movement, Nigerians in Diaspora One Nigeria Group, Prudent Youth Association of Nigeria, women groups, farmers, people with disabilities and other civil society groups, raised the N100 million fee to purchase the forms for the former minister. BREAKING: Tinubu campaign group DG, Jibrin, dumps APC

Imo police confirm killing of gunmen involved in officer’s death

The Imo State Police Command said it had killed two suspected criminals who chopped off the private parts of an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ukam Efut, at a checkpoint in Agwa in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.   A statement by the command spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, in Owerri, the state capital, stated that the preliminary investigation conducted by the command suggested that the slain suspects and their fleeing accomplices were members of Eastern Security Network, the militant wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra.   Abattam also disclosed that two locally made double barrel guns

FG bars civil servants from partaking in politics

The Federal Government has reiterated the prohibition on civil servants to partake in primary elections.   This was contained in a circular by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Esan, obtained on Friday.   The circular came hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission asked political parties to conduct their primaries for the nomination of candidates from April 4 to June 3.   The circular, dated May 5, 2022, was titled, ‘Clarification on the provision of public service vis-a-vis the Supreme Court judgement as it relates to participation of civil servant in partisan politics.’

2023: Ex-Reps Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, buys APC presidential form

Presidency: Akeredolu bombs Emefiele, asks Buhari to fire CBN gov

South-West APC leaders, aspirants reach agreement on 2023 presidency

South-West presidential aspirants and leaders of the All Progressives Congress have reached an agreement to ensure that the region produces the next APC presidential candidate of the party.   A former National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, made this known while addressing journalists at the end of a meeting with presidential aspirants from the zone on Friday night in Lagos State.
