A 27-year-old New Media aide to Senator Danjuma Goje, Muhammad Yayari, has been remanded by a Chief Magistrate Court in Pantami area on Tuesday, over the alleged fabrication of falsehood on Facebook. Yayari was arrested by the Government, following a post that over 80 per cent of ward executives in Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area had resigned their positions due to the recent incident involving a former governor, now senator representing Gombe Central, Goje. Robbers invade Ekiti Bank, kill policeman, FRSC’s Special Marshal
Armed robbers killed a policeman and a Special Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corps on Monday in Aramoko-Ekiti when they raided an old generation bank. A source who requested anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that armed robbers stormed the bank through Igede-Ado-Ekiti Road after work had closed. According to the source, the armed robbers blew the main door to the banking hall with explosives believed to be dynamite to gain access. Breaking: Court jails Ondo accountant seven years for N7m theft
An Ondo State High Court has sentenced an Ondo civil servant, Aminu Kamilu, to seven-year imprisonment with hard labour. Kamilu is an accountant attached to the Ondo State Hospital Management Board. He was said to have stolen the money in 2017 as an accountant with the General Hospital, Ikare. Presiding Judge, Justice William Olamide, who gave the judgement, said Kamilu could not absolve himself as all evidence he presented to deny culpability in the allegation of stealing the government’s money did not hold water.
