EFCC arraigns lady for N2.5m Canadian visa fraud

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Jessica Roselyn Edoleyi, Charles Endurance and Ayase Destiny before Justice S. M. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court in Benin, Edo State. The trio were docked for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretense, intent to defraud and impersonation. Edoleyi allegedly obtained N2,550,000 from Airiohuodion Efosa on the pretext of securing a Canadian visa for him. LASG warns against indescrminate construction on Regional Road, Lekki

Lagos State Government has warned against uncoordinated physical developments on the alignments of its Regional Road in Lekki. This state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako, gave the warning in a statement signed by the ministry’s spokesman, Mr Mukaila Sanusi on Thursday in Lagos. Salako had, during a routine visit to the project site, ordered the immediate suspension of new constructions around Shapatta, near Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lekki. He noted with dissatisfaction, the rate at which illegal and haphazard construction works were ongoing on Harrison Drive, Shapatta, behind VGC on the Regional Road project alignment.

Retired teacher killed his 32-year-old son in Enugu

  A retired teacher, Mr Ikechukwu Nwobodo, has allegedly taken the life of his 32-year-old son identified as Chika Nwobodo, because he was mentally deranged. The incident happened at Ogbozinne-Ndiagu, Akpugo Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State on Monday.
