There was pandemonium at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest zonal congress on Monday evening in Osogbo, capital of Osun State. The incident occurred around 6:45pm when some suspected hoodlums advanced towards the gate of the WOCDIF Event Centre where the congress was taking place in an attempt to invade the premises. Ex-Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose was about to leave the venue when the hoodlums attempted to invade the premises. Over ten armed hoodlums mobilised from Ibadan, the Oyo state capital with different rifles were reportedly apprehended in Osun State on Sunday evening. The were arrested in connection with the South-West zonal congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) taking place today in Osogbo, Osun State. Starnews Nigeria gathered that those arrested were members of the National Union of Road Transaport Workers (NURTW), otherwise known as Motor Park Manager System (PMS). Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday broke his silence over the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election presumably won by late business mogul, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.
