–Says Sola Ebiseni is being sponsored by Mimiko and the ruling APC, to play the spoiler’s role.

*Group Calls for immediate intervention of Ilaje PDP leaders to prevent Markafi vs Sheriff episode from repeating self.

Ahead of Ondo South 2019 state and national assembly elections, a group of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters, under the umbrella of Ondo South Senatorial District PDP Victory Group, has slammed chief Sola Ebiseni, PDP senatorial aspirant and former Ondo State commissioner for environment, for allegedly allowing himself to be used by former governor Olusegun Mimiko and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to play the spoiler’s roles against the success of the PDP in the coming 2019 Ondo south senatorial election.

In a statement made available to Starnews by its coordinator, Comrade Ayekomilogbon Omotayo, the group called on the leadership of PDP from Ilaje Local Government and at the state level, to immediately call chief Ebiseni to drop his senatorial aspiration in order not to truncate the existing cordial political relationship that exists in the Senatorial District.

The group said the “roles of chief Ebiseni in the infamous Markafi vs Sheriff episode that caused the PDP misfortune in Ondo State can not easily be wiped off from their memories”; they however advised the party leadership to avert another looming disaster that might affect the chances of PDP from winning the 2019 senatorial election in the state.

The full state read:

“We, members of the PDP Victory Group in Ondo South Senatorial District wish to call for the immediate intervention of the PDP leaders in the Senatorial District, particularly the PDP leaders from Ilaje Local Government, to prevail on Chief (Barr) Olusola Ebiseni to quickly drop his Senatorial Aspiration in order not to truncate the existing cordial political relationship that exists in the Senatorial District.

This call becomes imperative in view of the usual characteristics of Chief Ebiseni in playing the spoiler’s role since the Labour Party and PDP fused together in 2014. Let it be noted that his roles in the infamous Markafi vs Sheriff episode that caused the PDP misfortune in Ondo State can not easily be wiped off from our memories . It is the same spoiler’s role he played then that he’s embarking on in the current political struggle of the Ondo South Senatorial District. One is becoming convinced that the rumours making rounds that he’s being sponsored by the APC to create troubles for the PDP in Ondo South Senatorial District could not be far from the truth.

This is because of the similar role he played during the governorship election in Ondo State in 2015 when he actively collaborated with the Sheriff’s group to truncate the opportunity of the PDP in favour of the APC. Besides the foregoing, facts have also revealed that our former Governor who recently defected from PDP to Labour Party is surreptitiously backing Ebiseni to prosecute this spoiler job having lost grip of the political machinery of Ondo State due to his unembraced and ill-fated defection

It’s known that the political culture of our Senatorial District respects the traditional zoning arrangement which is, absolutely, not in favour of Ilaje Local Government where Chief Ebiseni hails from, at this time.

It must be emphasized that the only local government that can aspire to contest the Senatorial race in Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency is Ese-Odo but not Ilaje local government. This is also because Ilaje local government had spent two consecutive terms unprecedentedly since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

Let it be known that Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency is also spending its second term since Senator Boluwaji Kunlere represented Okitipupa before the incumbent Senator Yele Omogunwa who is now representing Irele in the Federal Constituency.

Therefore, the only Federal Constituency that can aspire to contest the Senatorial race is Odigbo/Okeigbo-Ile Oluji. This is the only Federal Constituency that had spent only one term in the current political dispensation. Succinctly put, out of the 18years of democratic rule since 1999, Ilaje local has enjoyed the Senate for 8 unbroken years;Odigbo 4yrs; Okitipupa 4yrs; Irele 4yrs; Ese Odo Nil ; Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Nil

Therefore, the current aspiration of Chief Ebiseni is quite unexpected and is capable of destroying the existing cordial and peaceful political relationship that is hitherto, enjoyed in the Senatorial District.

We enjoin all the PDP leaders in the Senatorial District, to immediately prevail on him to jettison his already jaundiced aspiration and wait for the appropriate time when it’ll be the turn of Ilaje local government.

As it’s now, one expects Chief Ebiseni to see himself as one of the elders that must be consulted when taking critical political decisions that affect the Senatorial District. It’s even expected that he should continue to bear in mind the possibility of his being preferred when considering gubernatorial candidate from the Senatorial District. But if he continues to misbehave or take decisions that are at variance and inimical to the peaceful political relationship in the District, his actions will certainly infuriate everybody and erupt condemnation and hatred for him.

We are saying what we are saying because we want to maintain peaceful political process that will guarantee the victory of the PDP in 2019!.

God bless PDP! God bless Ondo South Senatorial District!, the statement added.
