The Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissociated itself from the meeting of South West PDP "leaders" held in Lagos to review the outcome of the Ondo State Gubernatorial Election amongst other issues. Starnews Nigeria had reported that some Southwest leaders of the PDP led by former Governor Ayodele Fayose had lamented the loss of the governorship election in Ondo State to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite winning the presidential election, two senatorial seats, and three house of representatives seats for the PDP in the 2019 general election in the state.
