Military personnel accompanied herdsmen to kill 8 persons in Delta – Okowa

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has decried renewed attacks by suspected herdsmen in Avwon, Agadama, Ohoror and other communities of Uwheru Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state. According to Okowa, suspected herdsmen accompanied by unidentified armed personnel attacked the communities in what has become an annual routine, killing over eight persons and injured many others. He said the crisis started on Thursday and as of Saturday, lives and property, including farms, had perished. Herdsmen Mounting Roadblock In South-West As Vigilante Group, Kayode Ajulo Laments

Kayode Ajulo, a constitutional lawyer has condemned the mounting of roadblocks in some parts of the South-West by Fulani Vigilante. Ajulo narrated his encounter with the Fulani Vigilante group on his way returning from Akure yesterday around 4pm. He said, "They are already mounting highways with guns openly doing 'security work' and they have direct phone lines with the neighboring police stations confirming they are legitimate." "Few days ago I condemned the mounting of roadblocks in the South-East by these Fulani Vigilante. Unknown to me, they are already in the South-West. They even showed me their identity cards," he said.

Herdsmen have been caught by the people of Obudi Agwa Autonomous Community in Oguta Local Government Area, with one of them carrying a sack of bullets. Breaking: Yola Court Sentenced 5 To Death For Killing One Hersdman

Yola State High Court Presided over by Justice Abdul-Azeez Waziri has sentenced five men to death after finding them guilty of  killing one herdsman, Adamu Buba. The convicts are: Alex Amos, Alheri Phanuel, Holy Boniface, Jerry Gideon and Jari Sabagi of Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Five of them were found guilty of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide which contravened Section 96 (1) (a) and Sections 79 and 221 (b) of the Penal Code of Laws of Adamawa State, 1997 according to the trial judge.
