FEC approves N2.9bn for printing of question papers, others
The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved N2.9 billion contracts for the printing of sensitive and non-sensitive examination materials. The council also approved N1.6bn for the rehabilitation and upgrade of some roads within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The decisions were taken at the council’s meeting presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). FEC Approves New Name For Communications Ministry
The Federal Executive Council has approved a change of name for the Ministry of Communications. Based on the name change, the ministry will henceforth be called the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. President Buhari Holds Valedictory FEC Meeting In Abuja
President Muhammadu Buhari is currently chairing the valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting. The meeting is held behind closed doors and is attended by members of President Buhari’s cabinet. The valedictory session is holding after President Buhari returned to Abuja on Tuesday night. The President returned after a trip to Saudi Arabia where he performed Umrah rites (Lesser Hajj). Again, FG Requests For Another $1bn Chinese Loan
The Federal Executive Council has approved another $1billion Chinese loan. It will be sourced from the China-EXIM Bank for the Gurara II Hydropower project. The power project is planned to generate 360 megawatts of electricity. The Minister of Water Resources, Mr Sulieman Adamu, has just confirmed the approval of the loan by FEC. FEC Approves Establishment Of Nigerian Army University
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the establishment of the Nigerian Army University in Biu, Borno State. The council meeting which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday also gave approvals for eight other deliberations on various construction projects, loans and purchase of vehicles for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. The bill for the establishment of the Army University, according to the council, is now ready for legislative action.
