Licence cancellation: FG queries BEDC, 6 other Discos, gives deadline

Power distribution companies have till December 7 to submit their written responses providing reasons why their licences should not be cancelled, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission declared on Tuesday. In an updated document on the notice of hearing on the petitions by Discos on the Minor Review and Minimum Remittance Order dated November 5, 2019, and obtained from the commission in Abuja, the power sector regulator also outlined additional expectations from the Discos. Blackouts: NERC To Enforce Directive Issued To BEDC For Reconnection of Ondo South

Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) says it will compel the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to comply with it directive of July 10, 2017 to reconnect some communities in parts of Ondo South back to the national grid. BEDC Disconnected 32 Communities In Edo State–Edo Govt

No fewer than 444 communities, spread across the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo are without electricity, Mr Yekini Idaiye, the State Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources says.
