The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the suspension of the National chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) by some aggrieved members of the party.

In a letter signed by Mrs Rose Anthony, the Commission said it will continue to recognise and relate with Mr. Sowore Omoyele as the substantive National Chairman of AAC.

INEC said in the letter that there was no minutes or evidence of attendance of any meeting by AAC National Executive Committee Members where Sowore and eight members of the party were purportedly suspended.

In a letter dated 14th May 2019, the commission said the suspension was not carried out in line with the constitution of the party.

Starnews learnt that some members of the party led by the suspended National secretary of the party, Mr. Leonard Nzenwa, gathered in Abuja last week Monday to announce Mr Sowore’s suspension.
