As the date set by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) for the local government elections is barely seven (7) weeks from now, the biggest royal family of Idanre Kingdom on Sunday 1st of March, hosted their son who is also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Prince Kayode Aroloye at their Odode Boys’ Palace.

The Aroloye Royal family hosted Prince Kayode as part of his 57th royal birthday celebration as all the royal heir were present at the occasion, speaking at the event, Olotu Omo Oba, Chief Falade (BBC) thanked the party leadership especially Engr. Ade Adetimehin who is the state chairman of the party, for their kind gesture in giving one of the royal heirs the party ticket to run as their candidate in the forth coming local govt elections.

He added that their Royal house will forever cherish this rear privilege of the party while assuring that their family will ensure that this golden opportunity does not slip off their hands, as this is the first time in history such gesture will be extended to the Aroloye Royal family

While also speaking at the event, the Royal music icon, Prince Adetula Aroloye (Johnnymoore) said every member of the Royal family who registered in idanre both home and abroad will all be home to support, work and vote for one of their own, Johnnymoore said the royal family has a very strong voting strength and are connected to every home and family in Idanre kingdom.

In his words, “we have supported and voted for friends in past elections but no matter ugly your child is, such child will always get the admiration of their parents, we are large, we have friends and link to every family & household in Idanre such that can bring victory to our brother”

Olori Morenike Aroloye who was also at the event said “though we don’t get involved in partisan politics non did the Palace belong to any political party, but it will be a great Joy to have Royal thrown and Royal Executive Chairman”. She said she is ready to go out and seek for votes and support for Prince Kayode Aroloye.

While acknowledging the warm reception by the Royal home, Cheif Ojo Alalabiaye, a Chieftain of APC in Idanre, said once a knowledgeable, experienced and qualified person is allowed to run the affairs of the council, there will be development and things will take proper shape in the kingdom, he then solicited for the support of the Royal family saying that Prince Kayode is one of them.

Also, Comrade Jepson advised the royal family to use their numerical strength to the advantage of Prince Kayode in the election as politics is a game of numbers.

In his response, Prince Kayode Aroloye thanked his family members, saying their action has displayed that there is a great bond in the royalty of the kingdom and promised not to let them down, he said, “I will do my possible best to maintain the legacy laid down by our Great Grand father, HRM Oba Aladegbule Aroloye, Arubiefin III, which has been kept intact by our father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Fredrick A Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, Owa of Idanre Kingdom”.
