People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leading governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Hon Banji Okunomo, on Tuesday, said the statement credited to him on the high price of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s nomination forms never emanated from him.

According to Okunomo, the statement was credited to him by one Shina Peter, who said he complained that the price of INEC nomination forms for different political offices are too expensive.

In a telephone interview with Starnews NG, Okunomo said: ”the statement said to have been credited to me that INEC nomination fee is too expensive never emanated from me.”

”Till now, I have not appointed a press secretary or any Media Assistant, how then can one Shina Peter, a faceless and a strange person, be acting in that capacity?”

”It was a sponsored political write-up from my opponents to derail the mindset of the teeming population of supporters that I have gained across the state.”

”Therefore, the public should disregard the story in its entirety.”

”However, to put the record straight, I have done my feasibility study before embarking on my gubernatorial project and I am very sure that I am well prepared for the governorship race.”

”To demonstrate this, I Banji Okunomo, will obtain the PDP nomination form and participate in the PDP primary election and emerge candidate of the party by the special grace of God.”

”I am not running to just win the PDP primary election but to also defeat the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the general election”.

”It is clearly obvious that the writer of the statement cannot even differentiate between the PDP nomination fee from the INEC nomination fee. Such an expression of naivety and lack of knowledge could not have emanated from me, ” Okunomo said.
