More reactions continue to trail yesterday’s demolition of Climax Hotel and Bar in Akure on the alleged instruction of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Starnews had reported that a former member of Ondo State House of Assembly from Irele Local Government Area in Ondo State, and the Managing Director of Climax Hotel and Bar, Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa, cried out on Sunday evening, accusing the State governor of demolishing his Hotel and Bar for political reason.

Reacting to the incident, Banji Okunomo, the leading gubernatorial Aspirant of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2020 election in Ondo State, has likened the heart of the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to that of King Herod.

Okunomo said:

”The heart of the governor of Ondo State can be likened to that of King Herod. The demolition carried out by the state government against the property of Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa, is an act of wickedness.”

”I stand to challenge the government that there is no any tenable justification for such wicked demolition. I do not think anyone in a sane mind would commend the governor for destroying the means of livelihood of a person and those working under him on the altar of bitter intraparty politics.”

”I have been to the premises of the hotel and I am conversant with the fact that the hotel premises is located in a close, clustered with many houses. It is incomprehensible that the State Government would go to the ridiculous extent of maliciously destroying the livelihood of an innocent citizen.”

”I therefore enjoin the victim to embark on immediate legal action to avail him appropriate remedy”, Okunomo said.
