Over 20,000 hectares of rice farm belonging to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom have been set ablaze by suspected herdsmen in Tse-Adorogo, Mbabeagh, Nzorov, Guma Local Government Area. In a telephone interview with The Nation, the governor said he had not harvested his rice farm, which is incorporated under Oracle Business Limited, before the suspected herdsmen set it ablaze. Police Destroy Kidnappers’ Den In Ondo, Arrest Two

The Ondo State Police Command said on Thursday that it had arrested two people suspected to be members of a kidnapping gang terrorising the state. The suspects, who were identified as Jahae Mohammed and Jimoh Ahmed, were nabbed during a raid on the kidnappers’ den located in a forest in the Oba Akoko/Ose area of the Akoko South East Local Government Area of the state by a team of policemen.
